About the Friends

FMPS logoSince 1991, Friends of the Marblehead Public Schools has dedicated itself to enriching the curriculum of Marblehead’s public school children by funding grants supported in full through the generous donations of individuals and businesses.

The Friends has awarded well over $800,000 in grants to educators, administrators, performance groups, and citizens in order to support educational programs and events that would otherwise not be offered. Grants have covered a broad range of disciplines including science, math, technology, language arts, performing and visual arts, staff professional development, and history/world cultures. These grants have, in turn, given rise to unique collaborations between students and educators as well as successful pilot programs that have flourished in years subsequent to the Friends’ initial funding.

Purpose:

Friends of the Marblehead Public Schools, Inc., an educational foundation, will raise funds for the educational enrichment of the Marblehead Public Schools. Funds raised will be used for the enhancement of academics, athletics, arts, staff development, curriculum development, and student activities.

Such funds shall not be used for current operating costs, routine supplies and texts, utilities, existing building and equipment maintenance, staff salaries and wages, or to support current school operational costs.
